MAXON Computer , located in Friedricsdorf, Germany was established in 1986 by its CEO Harald Egel, Harald Schneider and Uwe Bartels.The Company has established itself around its core application CINEMA 4D, a leading 3d application for Media Production, and Body paint , a pioneering 3d Painting package.
The Maxon applications are widely appreciated for their intuitive interface, efficiency and significant boosts to workflow productivity. In 2009, both CINEMA 4D and Body Paint 3D have continued to inspire artists from around the world who have relied on the software to develop CG imagery. Maxon Computers works closely with industry often being the first to adapt its software to the newest technology and has always shown strong commitment towards Integration with applications from other companies such as Adobe, Apple, Pixologic, Next Limit and many more to create a cohesive workflow that will benefit the project and eventually the Industry. The way Cinema4d integrates with After effects is one such example that has been applauded by the motion graphics Industry.
In recent times, Cinema4d and Body paint have been part of film projects such as Watchmen, G-Force or Cinematic for Games such as Front mission Evolved. They have also been very critical element in the creation of the visual effects for the award winning episode of Doctor Who. Maxon confirmed their participation in this years SIGGRAPH and recently announced that this year they will present a list of demonstrations & how to’ techniques revealing the power and flexibility of arguably the easiest to use Professional 3d Applications available. The Showcase is filled with presentation on production of award winning 3d motion graphics, Broadcast Graphics, Feature work, Pre visualization for games and films likewise and Video Production at this years Convention that takes place between August 3rd – 7th at Ernest N. Memorial Convention Center in New Orleans, Louisiana.
The Attendees can expect to see guest artist presenting a wide range of techniques that will inspire them to push the limits of technology. Tom Quach, senior texture/matte painter at Sony Pictures Imageworks, will show the compelling visual effects look in Watchmen. The creative team at Innovative Show Design (ISD) will demo the making-of several broadcast set design projects—most recently for the Super Bowl XLIII and Poker After Dark, both for NBC, and the 2009 Speed Week at Daytona 500.
Dr. Volker Sassmannshausen, a.k.a. Dr. Sassi, a prolific contributor to Maxon’s Education site Cineversity will also be previewing his short animated feature JET( Junior Extra Terrestrial). Another must watch presentation will be made by Alan Williams ( Savannah College MFA Student )winner of this year’s prestigious Inspire09 symposium’s ‘9 x 90 Competition’, who will present his winning motion-media design project, Meditations in a Toolshed.
MAXON is pleased to announce that two of its customers have created computer-generated animated films that will be screening at the SIGGRAPH Computer Animation Festival including: Nucleus Medical Art, for its medical animation entitled “Atherosclerosis” and “ Night Fishing with Cormorants” by Betsy Kopmar, an Artist and instructor at Ex’pression College for Digital Arts. The first piece is a graphical depiction of the process or sequence leading to a heart attack while the latter is a meditative piece inspired by a japanese work of art from the 17th century that will be showcased in the Visual Music category.
MAXON assure that their presence this year at SIGGRAPH 2009 convention—the leading international conference and exhibition on computer graphics and interactive techniques , will be the most memorable ever.
