Since NAB 2009 there has been an alarming buzz around Adobe’s new Mercury Playback Engine. Everyone who had seen it was amazed at the brute force with which formats were handled and played. Evangelists have gone full throttle in their praise for this release and they aint wrong when they claim that the Adobe Premiere CS5 in all about performance. And as CS5 streams into the real world the general consnesus amongst users is a picture of confidence and support that Premiere has not seen before. For the first time Premiere has managed to get the industry stalwarts and long term Video Guru’s notice it and has managed to leave them impressed with its sheer performance.
